To the hotel (from the Massachusetts Turnpike, Route
90)
Exit LEFT at the Cambridge/Allston exit. (50 cent toll) When
the off-ramp splits, keep right (going towards Cambridge). At
the stop light at the end of the ramp, you should still be on
the right side. Go through that light, then make a right at the
next set of lights (the DoubleTree Hotel will be on your right).
Stay left and follow the signs to Soldiers Field Road and Storrow
Drive. This road will take you along the river, which will be
on your left side as you head towards the city. Follow this road
for about 3.5 miles. Take the Government Center exit. This will
put you on Cambridge Street (overhead signs will also direct you).
Stay on this road for about a quarter mile. Make a left onto Staniford
St (the Shangri La restaurant will be on your right when you make
this turn), which becomes Causeway Street at a "Friday's"
restaurant. (You will also find yourself driving under a subway
overpass). Friend St will be on your right. Turn here and look
for the hotel on your right. There are numerous public parking
lots. (**If at anytime you get lost, ask someone how to get to
the Fleet Center, which is on Causeway Street)

While crossing this bridge, stay right. After the bridge, take
the Memorial Drive exit, heading towards Cambridge (west). You
will now be going along the river, with the river to your left.
Stay on the left lane and go though the under pass. (If you stay
right, you will be forced to make a right onto Masschusetts Ave,
which also leads into Harvard sqaure). Along this road, you will
pass the Hyatt, a Shell station, and a Strawberries, all on your
right. Keep going until you reach John F Kennedy St. Turn right
here. This will lead you into Harvard Square, characterized by
high pedestrian traffic. Harvard University will be on the left,
surrounded by brick walls and tall gates.
