You will pass a large parking lot on the right (**This is the Alewife T Station**), as well as a TJ Maxx and Fresh Pond Mall. At this point you will be approaching a rotary. Head towards Cambridge (if you are approaching from "6 o'clock", you want to exit at "9 o'clock"). You are now on Route 16, Fresh  Pond Road. Take this road until you veer left onto Memorial Drive. This road runs along the river, which should be on your right side. Turn left on John F Kennedy St (a lighted intersection - if you go  right, you are crossing a bridge). JFK Street leads into Harvard  Square, characterized by high pedestrian traffic. Harvard University will be on the left, surrounded by brick walls and tall gates. In all, your drive should be no more than 10 miles
